Govt. begins resettling in PTK

The resettlement ministry said today that some 380 families or 1204 people are to be resettled at east Puthukudyiruppu (PTK), having moved them away from the Manik Farm welfare camp in Vavuniya in the north where they were putting up.

Two CDF officers killed in accident

Three Civil Defence Force officers on a motorcycle collided head-on with a lorry at Pitakumbura in Bibile a short while ago. Three officers had been on the motorcycle when the accident occured.Two  motorcyclists died on the spot while the other was admitted to the Badulla Hospital in a serious condition.
